The garlic that you will buy from the markets or the garlic that you will get in a restaurant might be from China and that is actually a really bad thing. The chances of you getting the garlic from China is high because from China comes about a third of the garlic in United States.

Why is it a bad thing? Well because the quality is not the same and plus the garlic from China is not grown the same because in China they use pesticides. Phorate and parathion and really dangerous toxins and it have been discovered that many farmers used those pesticides (which are banned by the government). And that is not the only problem why the garlic from China is not a good thing, but there is also the China’s pollution issue and soil. It was discovered that many rivers in China had in them industrial chemicals and household waste and the soil is polluted by heavy metals such as arsenic and cadmium.

4. You should always get the garlic that has roots and a stem because in order to lower the weight during the transport, the stems and roots from the Chinese garlics are removed.
